How to find sponsors for a youth sports team
Local businesses want families to know them. Your team has families. Here is how to connect the two.
1. Know what you can offer
List real things: jersey logo, banner at the field, a post on your team page, a shout-out in the parent email. Only offer what you will actually do.
2. Start with businesses your families use
Pizza places, dentists, gyms, car washes, real estate agents. Ask parents which businesses they already visit.
3. Give simple choices
Two or three levels are enough. Say exactly what each one includes and what it costs.
4. Make results easy to see
A coupon code or QR code lets the business see who came from your team. That helps them say yes next season.
5. Say thank you in public
Post a thank-you with the sponsor's logo after the season starts. Then send a short note with photos at the end.

Questions
How much should we ask for?
Base it on what you offer and how many people see it. Start small; it is easier to grow a sponsor than to land a big one first.
Do we need to be a nonprofit?
No. Many teams are not. Be clear about what you are, and ask a tax professional if a sponsor asks about deductions.
