How to find local sponsors for your community group
You do not need to be big. You need to know who you reach and what you can do for a sponsor.
1. Describe your people
Families? Teens? Local business owners? Music fans? A clear audience is the first thing a sponsor asks about.
2. Count honestly
Members, event attendees, email list, followers. Rough numbers are fine. Do not inflate them.
3. Match businesses to your audience
A dance studio's families fit a kids' clothing shop. A running club fits a shoe store. Think about who wants your people.
4. Look near and far
Local shops are a natural fit, but online brands and national companies sponsor groups too — especially for posts and emails.
5. Keep the ask short
One paragraph: who you are, who you reach, what you offer, what it costs. Add one photo.
